Microneedling

Client will first receive a topical gel on the skin to numb the area to be treated. After skin is numb, our esthetician will use the pen like device containing the pins across the area in a fluid motion. One session can last up to half an hour, and multiple sessions separated by weeks may be necessary, depending on the depth and severity of the scars and wrinkles to be treated.

• Discontinue all retinol products at least 7-10 days before microneedling
• Your skin cannot be sunburned at the time of miconeedling
• Pre-conditioning the skin with recommended products 4-6 weeks prior to service
  is recommended for optimal results.
• You cannot receive microneedling if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
• We will not be able to perform any facial services if you have had botox or filler
  within the 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
• We will need all piercing jewelry removed prior to receiving microneedling.
• We will not be able to perform any facial services with an active cold sore. Please
  consult with your physician if you are prone to cold sores.

While there are several factors that can impact the healing time necessary after a microneedling session, patients can generally expect their skin to look as though they have a moderate to severe sunburn and skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. Typical side effects include redness and some swelling, these side effects usually lessen 48-72 hours after the treatment.

What are the contraindications for this treatment?
Patient may not receive a treatment with the following conditions:

• Open sores or lesions
• Skin cancer
• Broken or irritated skin, including conditions such as hives or dermatitis
• Any stage of melanoma
• Rosacea
• Raised Surface
• Eczema
• Active Acne
• Any type of skin infections
• Blood Thinner
• Pregnant or breast feeding
• Diabetes.

*Discontinue Retinol 7 days prior to treatment.

• Minimize sun exposure. It is imperative that no tanning is done while you are undergoing this treatment.
• For the next 24 hours-avoid strenuous exercise or any activity that causes excessive perspiration.
• Before cleansing the skin please wash your hands hands thoroughly and remember that your channels in your skin are going to be open for a minimum of 24 hours
• With freshly washed hands-apply Z0 hydrating crème or shield recovery balm then moisturizer twice daily until the skin returns to its normal state.
• Use SPF 30 or higher every day to keep the skin protected.
• Refrain from waxing, electrolysis or depilatories for at least 7 days.
• Delay use of Retin-A, Taxorac, Renova, Differin, Avage, Epiduo, Ziana and high percentages of Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids for 7 days after treatment.
• Do not pick or pull on any loosening or peeling skin, this is apart of the healing prosses.
• Picking or pulling of the skin could lead to infection. Instead of picking or pulling try applying ZO hydrating crème.
• Do not go swimming for 24-48 hours.
• Do not put your face directly into hot shower spray for 24-48 hours.
• Do not use Jacuzzi, steam room or sauna.
• Do not use loofahs or other means of exfoliation for 10 days on the treated area.
• Do not direct a hair dryer onto the treated area.
• Avoid tweezing, waxing, bleaching or laser services during the course of the treatment.
• Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours
• Redness lasts 1-3 days
• Mild flaking may happen 1-3 days post treatment
